I'm going into 9th grade this year, and my hair is pretty long right now and I want a hair cut. Any good styles people would like?Good hair styles for guys?
To give specific advice it would be helpful to know your head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features, and the amount of time you want to spend grooming your hair, as well as what length is meant by ';pretty long'; and what length is desired. I'll assume you are an athletic 9th grader who doesn't really want to spend a lot of time grooming his hair but wants his hair to look its best, and is open to any style or length since nothing was mentioned limiting either. Given these assumptions, I recommend a regular taper cut or if you want shorter and even more carefree hair, one of the short pomp styles-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut-as these styles can be designed to suit almost any young guys head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features and take minimal time to groom, particularly the short pomp styles.

The answer at the following link explains the basic short cuts. The first two links contained therein are quite informative:

ivy league(long crew cut):

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form the short pomp front or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut

[A crew cut is a timeless prep haircut, the photo directly above is from 1946, and yet if the photo was in color, both the guy and the clothes he is wearing could be in the latest J Crew catalog. ]
ultra short crew cut:

[Around 5/8';(#5) at the front hairline, graduated to about 1/4';(#2)at the back of the crown. Back and sides are tapered from around #0A length (1.2mm)down to #000 length(0.5mm) at the ears and nape.]
Grooming any of the short pomp styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same.
1) Towel dry hair.
2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.
3)Transfer wax to palms.
4) Smooth palms over hair.
5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.
Whichever style you decide on, take a photo to help describe the desired haircut to the barber or stylist. If you need more photos of a particular style, let me know.

Hi Philip =D隆隆
In choosing a hairstyle, it is important to consider the shape of the face, as this detail can improve your style and can make you look more beautiful.
There are several basic types of face, and most people fit into one of these categories, or at least a combination of two or more. The basic types of face are oval, round, rectangular, shaped like a pear-shaped diamond, and square.
The oval face is ideal, since people with oval faces can use almost any hairstyle. Oval faces are those that have a little longer than wide, with the forehead slightly wider than the jaw. Famous for this type are eg Britney Spears or Anne Hathaway.
Round faces are easily identifiable by having a rounded chin and short length of face. The best hairstyle for this type of face is a cut that volume to the top of the head, while maintaining low-volume to the sides of the face, keeping the flat sides and around the ears. A famous face is round Queen Latifah.
If you have a rectangular face, you have a square chin and a long and narrow contour. For this type of face, it is best to have a haircut that cree width to the sides disguising the narrowness, with layers on the side. Jennifer Anniston and Courtney Cox are an interesting example of the facial structure.
A pear-shaped face is characterized by a narrow face and wide jaw. For this kind of face it is best to work with layers and styles of hair that widens the forehead and temples, to give an illusion of an oval face. A typical Kelly Osbourne.
A heart-shaped face is one that has broad forehead and narrow chin. Some celebrities who have this type of face are Mandy Moore and Christina Aguilera. What is recommended is to create layers in the front to disguise the breadth of it and to leave the bottom of the face.
The diamond shaped face is characterized by wide cheeks and forehead and narrow chin and angles, and of course try to clear the front and cover the cheeks and chin. One of the most famous celebrities with this kind of face is Reese Witherspoon.
You see, all the haircuts and hairstyles, they should try to reach the face appear more oval as possible, to make it balanced.
I hope this help in something.
Have a nice day :)
