Would this hair style work with shorter hair and the red on the bottom half?

I mean about 3 or 4 inches shorter. The black would also be a dark dark brown not black.

Oh it will defiantly be fine. It would look awesome too, I had my hair like this in grade nine, and my hair was alot shorter.

Depends, you wouldn't be able to get it to look like that in a pony tail.

And i would suggest a not so harsh red, maybe a more reddy brown than red red colour, but not so brown you cant tell.

But yeah, it should look nice as long as you care for it in the right way using non fade shampoos and conditioner.

I think it'd look even better if the hair were shorter.

Brown would be fine, too (think: chocolate and cinnamon).

I like the red, it's not orangey, whew. You could get matching lipstick...red OR brown, I guess!
