But I have extemely long and thick naturally curly hair.

If I were being casual

(This hairstyle is hard to describe; Please bear with me)

I'd wear it: Parted so that i have some hair left in the middle and i'd clip that back. Then leave the hair that is left on the sides down.
Hey I'm going into 7th also. My hair is thick too so this doesnt always work but try putting it in a pony tail and twisting it into a bun. Its neat and out of the way. If you prefer to put it down, try taking a piece of your hair and clipping it back, you can braid that strand if you'd like. Speaking of braids, When my hair was really long I always but it in ponytail or pigtail braids
Thick hair is perfect for big curls or glamour curls.

Try getting side bangs and straightening them. But do that after you do your curls.

if u dont layer it a lot it will look like a big cotton ball

Well i have VERY thicnk hair and i find that it just wont cooperate. So you know what i did. I cut it super short and did the angled bob with bangs. It looks fantastic, i get complimented for it every day. I dont know what you look like but i have a little forehead and bangs are perfect. Heres a pic

my hair is long and very thick. i think layering is the way to go. it makes it less heavy.
Have your stylist give you a lot of long layers. This will help with the thickness.
